    Dr. Bill Bartlett Clinical Biochemist with over 40 years’ experience within the UK’s National Health Service, and Ortho’s Dr. Alistair J.     Alistair worked for 22 years in the UK National Health Service, he started work as a trainee biomedical scientist and left as a Clinical Scientist.

    He joined Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in 2016, where he has been involved with the Laboratory Consulting Services looking at workflow, simulation, modelling, Lean 6 Sigma projects, laboratory design, automation and re-organisation. He has a looked at workflow in it’s many guises in Laboratories throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, USA and South America and has had the opportunity to look at working practices in most disciplines of Pathology. He has spoken on the subject of scenario planning through the use of simulation modelling at the AACC and EuroLabAutomation.

    Dr Bill Bartlett is a Clinical Biochemist with over 40 years’ experience in clinical laboratories within the UK’s National Health Service. He has recently retired from the Clinical Lead position for NHS Scotlands National Laboratories Programme. Bill has held that post since May 2018, following his retirement in 2018 as Joint Clinical Director of the Diagnostics Group, within NHS Tayside. Additional roles have included that of Lead Clinician for the Scottish Clinical Biochemistry Managed Diagnostic Network and Subject Matter Expert for the laboratories element of NHS Scotland Shared Services Health Portfolio. He is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Division of Medicine in Dundee and is to be appointed Honorary Reader in Clinical Engineering. He has also held honorary academic appointments at the Universities of Birmingham and St Andrews.
